Hi, I’m Joanne Willis, Registered Holistic Nutritionist with 18+ years of clinical experience and a Certified Metabolic Balance® Coach.
I specialize in helping women over 40 who feel frustrated, confused, and betrayed by their bodies in perimenopause to finally understand why their weight, energy, hormones, and mood have changed — and how to take back control using a truly personalized, food-based approach.
My passion for this work comes from personal experience.
At 26, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Treatment saved my life, but left my body inflamed, exhausted, and completely out of balance. That experience pushed me to study holistic nutrition so I could rebuild my health naturally.
But my journey didn’t end there.
After the birth of my daughter at age 32, I struggled with postnatal depression, emotional eating and a 30-pound weight gain. Once again, nutrition and self-awareness helped me to restore balance and feel like myself again.
For years I felt strong, energized, and stable until perimenopause hit - during a major life transition when emigrating from the UK to Canada in the middle of the pandemic!
My body started to rebel - weight gain, anxiety, heavy periods, night sweats, insomnia, and mood swings. I didn’t recognize my body anymore and I realized that my body needed a different approach this time around.
After discovering Metabolic Balance®, I coached myself through the program first. I lost almost 20lbs in 5 weeks and my symptoms eased in a way that felt steady, natural, and sustainable. I was sold!
I understand the fear, the frustration, and the desire to feel at home in your body again. And I have the expertise and experience to know how to guide you there with compassion, clarity, structure, and support. (And we'll have some fun along the way :)

My practice is dedicated exclusively to coaching women in midlife through the Metabolic Balance® Program using a holistic, compassionate and realistic approach — not because menopause is "trendy", but because I experienced first-hand the complex nature of our health at this stage of life, and the advanced level of support women in theirs 40s and 50s need to achieve real, lasting health through perimenopause and beyond.
I value personalization over guesswork, science over trends, food over fads, and long-term results over quick fixes.
I believe it is my duty to educate women on the pros and cons of all treatment options so they can make an informed decision that feels right for THEM.
I believe every woman deserves to be truly heard and that real health can be enjoyed without giving up all of our favourite foods or having to be "perfect" every day.
While your Metabolic Balance® nutrition plan is the core blueprint to restore a healthy blood-sugar balance and improved blood-markers, we will also address the other pieces that deeply impact hormones, metabolism, and mood in midlife.
Your coaching package includes a plan for:

My role is to guide you step-by-step through your customized plan, help you understand your own body, and support you through the real-life challenges of midlife so change feels doable, not overwhelming - and I will continue to work with you until you achieve your goals - no matter how long it takes :)
