Hi, I’m Catherine Barnes — i have a bachelor degree in Medical science majoring in Clinical Nutrition , remedial massage and myofascial therapist, kinesiologist, and passionate advocate for whole-body wellness. My journey into health began in my early years, when eczema, allergies, and food sensitivities shaped the way I understood my body. These experiences inspired me to explore the profound connection between what we eat, how we move, and how we feel.

Over the years, I’ve healed my own gut through clean, non-processed, whole foods, and today I support others to do the same. I believe nutrition is one of the most powerful tools we have. When we nourish the body with the right ingredients, we support healing at every level — physically, emotionally, and energetically. As I often say:

“The body is like a finely tuned engine. If you feed it crap, it’s going to feel like crap.”

Alongside my manual therapies — Bowen Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, and kinesiology — nutrition forms the foundation of how I work with clients. My focus is on creating practical, sustainable solutions that honour your lifestyle, goals, and unique story. Clean eating, hydration, whole foods, and mindful choices are at the heart of my approach.

I have currently completed my Bachelor of Clinical Nutrition and integrating nutritional coaching and Metabolic Balance programs into my practice at Innovated Wellness in Yeppoon. My mission is simple:

to guide you toward better health through nourishment, balance, and natural alternatives.

Information on practice

I take a functional, whole-body approach to nutrition. Instead of focusing only on symptoms, I look at the entire picture — digestion, hormones, stress, hydration, sleep, inflammation, and the way lifestyle choices influence daily wellbeing. I believe nutrition should be practical, achievable, and personalised to each person’s needs and story.

As I moved through my Bachelor of Clinical Nutrition, I continue integrating evidence-based nutritional strategies into my practice to support:

  • gut and digestive health
  • allergies and sensitivities
  • hormone balance
  • fatigue and energy support
  • healthy weight regulation
  • nourishment during pregnancy and postpartum
  • immune support
  • chronic stress and nervous-system health

My philosophy is simple:

I see food as one of the most powerful tools for healing — supporting not only physical health, but also emotional and mental wellbeing.

At Innovated Wellness, I offer nutritional guidance with a focus on clean eating, whole foods, hydration, and realistic changes that fit your life. I also help clients understand their triggers, decode symptoms, and build confidence in choosing foods that support their long-term wellness.

Metabolic Balance nutritional programs are currently being developed for the clinic, bringing personalised nutrition into a structured and supportive format.
