Hello, my name is Laura McLennan, a Biologist, Holistic Nutritionist, Certified Metabolic Balance Practitioner and one of the top Metabolic Balance Coaches in Canada each year since 2023. I own and operate Health Scope, a clinic based in Dorchester, near London in southwestern Ontario.

I had been working as a biologist for over 20 years when the stress of that career was taking a toll on my health. Like many practitioners, I took a deep dive into my own symptoms and a whole new world of wellness emerged to me. I went back to school to study holistic nutrition and opened my practice in 2020 and I have not looked back since.

When I first started my practice using Live Blood Analysis as a modality to investigate how the body was functioning, I quickly learned that many of my clients were suffering with metabolic syndrome and needed support with diet, what to eat, and when to eat it. When there was so much noise around fad diets, and trending weight loss strategies, I wanted something rooted in science. Something that I could really get behind scientifically. It was another deep dive that brought me to Metabolic Balance and I became a certified Metabolic Balance Practitioner in 2022.

I value and build deep trust with my clients by actively listening, supporting without judgment, and truly caring about their well-being, because we all deserve compassion in a wellness journey.

I believe healing isn’t linear. There is space for imperfection and celebration in every step forward. I celebrate non-scale wins, from better sleep and clearer thinking to feeling confident in your skin and excited about life again.

In my personal time I love being on the water - paddling, boating, kayaking, listening. I love to find new and challenging hikes that push me physically to reap the reward of a spectacular view at the top. Nature and the wilderness keep my grounded. And my husband and two young adult children keep it real.

My mission at Health Scope is to deliver personalized health plans for women navigating midlife, helping them reclaim their vitality, manage weight sustainably, and feel like themselves again. Grounded in proven nutritional science and guided by compassion, I provide clear, practical support to create lasting transformation and lifelong well-being.

The focus of my practice is helping busy, professional women in midlife struggling with perimenopausal and menopausal weight gain, low energy, brain fog, and hormonal imbalances. I help women feel energized, vibrant, and confident in their skin, without confusing fads, unrealistic expectations, or relying on proprietary supplements. Just real, whole foods tailored to their unique needs with Metabolic Balance.

I educate women on how to nourish their bodies with a highly personalized and tailored approach, so they feel confident making informed choices and can take control of their health for a lifetime.

I connect with my clients in-person, or virtually over Zoom for 1:1 support. I am available to answer questions, and offer support outside of scheduled calls and appointments. I want to ensure my clients feel all-in and supported to make their health and wellness a priority. I offer additional resources and group support opportunities in a platform called Circle. Inside Circle you not only get additional 1:1 support and expertise from me, you also get to connect with other people who are on their own wellness journey at the same time. Inside Circle, connection becomes one of the most powerful tools. When you are surrounded by other people who “get it,” everything feels lighter. Everyone is walking a similar path.

I also use other tools like Live Blood Analysis, Nutri-body Analysis, hormone testing and food sensitivity testing in my clinic to get to root causes of symptoms when needed.
